Classes and Workshops
Sharing my knowledge and passion for Butoh dance theatre, Okido yoga and arts practices with the community is an honour. It's an inspiration to see participants discover themselves through these arts and to share practice with you!
I strive to create safe and queer friendly spaces for you to explore your creativity and connect with your body. Please talk to me about any needs you may have. No experience necessary, all abilities welcome, we can work with how we are today!

About
I am a visual-performance artist, facilitator, and teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching Butoh dance, Okido yoga and visual art and design. My teaching focuses on connecting with the body to foster self-understanding and expand creative potential.
In my Butoh courses, participants are guided to explore embodied creativity in a supportive environment, uncovering what lies within through the body’s innate connectedness rather than focusing on presenting a fixed form to an audience. Okido yoga, which emphasises grounding, strength, flexibility, and relaxation, often provides an incredible foundation for Butoh practice, helping participants cultivate presence and resilience.
With over 15 years of personal practice, my training includes four years of residential Okido yoga study under Mizue Tamaki in the Netherlands, as well as repeated intensive Butoh training with artists such as Masaki Iwana, Maro Akaji, Stefano Taiuti, and others. My approach is rooted in the Okido principle of "no fixed idea," which encourages seeking truth through observing nature and consistent practice. This principle underpins both my yoga and Butoh teachings, emphasising discovery and connection over performance.
In addition to movement practices, I teach visual art and puppetry workshops, balancing skill-building with creative expression. I am also a tertiary tutor in design and visual art at UniSC and TAFE, where I bring my passion for creativity and my diverse experience to inspire students at all levels.
